Daddy Longlegs, Hammon-Bown…

April 14, 2013

My grandchildren are so adorable!  Looking after them is a privilege and pleasure.  Here – as posted on Linkedin – are a few scenes from my session on Friday…

[1]  DADDY LONGLEGS, FISH AND FAIRY

Prone in red-rose dress,

Drew a monkey’s head with legs

And called him “Daddy”.

Plastic fish on wheels.

“Cheat!  Cheat!” squealed Big Sister,

Lines tangled in fun.

White glue thickly spread,

Fairy doll hilarity.

“Wash your messy paws!”

[2]  HAMMON-BOWN

Four nice sandwiches,

Ham on brown,

One bite from each.

“No more,” she says.

Trimmed, re-presented, a magic trick.

Four new sandwiches,

One bite from each.

“No more,” she says.

Trimmed, re-presented, a magic trick.

Four new sandwiches, micro-size,

One bite each – and gone!

“More,” she says.  “More hammon-bown…”

I’m looking forward to my eldest grandson’s 5th birthday party later.  Have a lovely Sunday, everyone.  I will!
