The Seekers

July 20, 2014

Hi Folks,

Like so many of my poems, ‘The Seekers’ was inspired by an observation in the Weaver Valley – a pair of treasure hunters slowly combing a newly ploughed field…

Hope you like it.  Have a great Sunday.

THE SEEKERS

Zipping low, several mocking swallows;

no need have they for human treasure.

Detectors bleeping, man and wife sweep furrows.

Zipping low, several mocking swallows.

A Bronze Age dirk once found in the hollows,

now they seek a more fulfilling pleasure.

Zipping low, several mocking swallows;

no need have they for human treasure.
